Bulacan
Bulacan, officially the Province of Bulacan, is a province in the Philippines located in the Central Luzon region. Its capital is Malolos City. Established on August 15, 1578, Bulacan is part of the Metro Luzon Urban Beltway Super Region and the Greater Manila Area.
HISTORY
Bulacan played a vital role in Philippine history as the birthplace of the First Constitutional Democracy in Asia, proclaimed in 1899 at the Barasoain Church in Malolos City. It is also the home of national heroes like Marcelo H. del Pilar, known as 'The Great Propagandist,' and General Gregorio del Pilar, famed as the 'Tirad Pass Hero.' The province has also produced great artists such as poet Francisco Balagtas, composer Nicanor Abelardo, and sculptor Guillermo Tolentino.

Bulacan is located immediately north of Metro Manila. It is bounded by Pampanga on the west, Nueva Ecija on the north, Aurora and Quezon on the northeast and east, Rizal on the southeast, and Manila Bay on the southwest.

Agriculture
From 2015 to 2024, crop production in Bulacan reflected steady and resilient agricultural practices. Palay (rice) remained the province’s leading crop, with irrigated palay consistently contributing the bulk of total output. Rainfed palay showed minor fluctuations, but overall rice production remained stable. Corn production also maintained consistent levels, dominated by yellow corn with white corn contributing modestly. Total corn production hovered around 4,300 metric tons annually.
